You can eat better for less if you are willing to put in a bit of effort. It’s not hard to pick out your favorite seeds, grab a few containers and some organic soil and compost (or till a small part of your lawn, if you prefer).
The hard part is having patience to parent your babies to adulthood. Instead of bottles and diaper changes, you have watering and weeding. Plants have their own medical needs too. Bugs, diseases, rot, over watering, under watering, …
Beware of Garden Fever!
It can be so tempting to plant everything at once, add “just a little more” water/fertilizer/etc. but just take it nice and slow. You don’t need to rush. Start out small with season appropriate crops and you will be fine.
You can always scale up next season.
